The first reading day of the Festival of German-Language Literature 2011 found no clear favourites so far. The jury was consistently split in their verdicts.

On Thursday, the 33rd Festival of German-Language Literature (FGLL) in Klagenfurt was opened with readings by the first five authors. The jury discussions were heated as usual. So far, no clear favourite has emerged.

Half of the authors who presented their texts on the third and final day of the readings of the 33rd Festival of German-Language Literature were Austrian: while Andrea Winkler’s text did little for the jury, Caterina Satanik was more successful.

Clarissa Stadler turned to Lorenz’ general direction, “thank God you don’t get your own way too often, you also dissuaded me from applying to the ORF”, and raised laughter.
